The FOSS.IN/2008 Talk and Workout Schedules are now available for your viewing pleasure at
http://foss.in/2008/schedules/
And if you haven’t registered yet as a delegate, please do so now. We are taking numbers into account to order food, goodies, etc. Last moment registrations are likely to miss out if headcount exceeds available stuff.
Register at http://foss.in/register/delegate-registration *NOW*, we are going to freeze on a ballpark number based on the count by this evening. You can watch things happening here:
BTW – we have also received word that people in companies and colleges aren’t hearing about the event, and may miss out. Spread the word, people, hit
and get your banner/button/badge fill, and spread the word.
Note that in our efforts to conserve funds for direct event expenses, we are not doing any advertising in papers this year. FOSS.IN is really not that kind of mela/carnival anyway, we want serious people coming to the event – people who will contribute, and who are genuinely interested in Free and Open Source Software and who want to interact with others like them.
The bad news is going to be the weather – it looks like rain and thunderstorms during the event. That sucks ostrich eggs, but until someone rewrites the weather control system and GPLs it, there is nothing we can
do about it. So come prepared for cold and wet weather, start out a little earlier to take into account traffic delays, etc. getting to the venue next week.
Speaking of venue – have you checked out all the information found under the Info menu on http://foss.in – information for delegates, venue instructions, etc.? No? What *have* you been reading then?
More coming up – stay tuned.
