And here it is – the surprise we promised!
On November 28th, India will see the FOSS.IN Linux Kernel Hackers Gathering (LKHG), featuring presentations by renowned kernel hackers from across India and the rest of the world, including Suparna Bhattacharya, Christoph Hellwig, Harald Welte, Ananth N Mavinakayanahalli, James Morris, Aneesh Kumar K V, Balbir Singh, Srikanth Srinivasan, Srivatsa Vaddagiri, Amit Shah and Dipankar Sarma, among many others who will participate.
Never before has India seen such a high power collection of Linux Kernel hackers in one place, and it is FOSS.IN’s bugle call – we want to bring the official Linux Kernel Summit to India someday!
To be held in the huge 750 seater hall, this is a unique chance for people to interact with some of the world’s best Linux Hackers, and hear from the horse’s mouth what’s happening in Linux Kernel Land, what the current challenges are, what’s upcoming, what the directions are, and, of course, how you can get involved. You will hear anecdotes, you will be told about the rationale behind design decisions, you will be told how the hackers do what they do, and why you not only should, but WILL be involved.
Have a look at the incredible lineup of things waiting for you – the schedule is now available.
The idea is not, however, to spend the day listening to people talk on stage. No – the idea is to get involved, to brainstorm, and to arrive at ideas, suggestions and actual patches.
This is NOT going to be a session for you if you have no interest in Linux kernel development (or changing the world, for that matter – same thing). You need to have the guts, and the skills, to respond to, and even challenge, the kernel wizards, as they drag you, kicking and screaming, into the wonderful world of the Linux Kernel.
And therefore, the latter part of the day will be spent doing lightning talks related to kernel topics, and finally an Open House Q&A session between the audience and all the kernel hackers present.
This is DEFINTELY not something anyone interested in the Linux Kernel should or will miss. So make sure you are there at FOSS.IN to attend it.
Sorry, for FOSS.IN delegates only. Please make sure you register as a delegate.
