Styling Qt Using Style Sheets |
| Abstract |
Customizing the look and feel of Qt widgets could be achieved only by subclassing Qt's styling API QStyle. Subclassing and writing code meant that it was impossible to let loose graphic designers on Qt applications to create styles of breathtaking beauty. With Qt 4.2, Qt provides a mechanism to style widgets without writing any code - Qt Style Sheets. Qt Style Sheets is a style description language heavily inspired by CSS. Style Sheets can be changed at run time and have the enormous benefit that no code recompilation is required to test out style changes. This talk will explain the design and concepts behind Qt Style Sheets and how just about anyone can start theming Qt applications immediately after the talk. |
| Pre-requisites |
No programming skills required. Working knowledge of CSS would be useful but not mandatory. Interest in GUI theming, look and feel will help. |
