Bring your own hammer - I have the nails !

Abstract The GNOME Project provides a variety of means to contribute. These range from the low-hanging-fruits to tasks of increasing complexity. The membership of the GNOME Foundation is an additional compelling reason why new contributors might like to join in the GNOME Project. This session provides an insight into how willing contributors can be part of the GNOME family. Taking small task examples from various GNOME initiatives like GNOME Art,GNOME Marketing, Bug Triaging, Documentation it is aimed at providing a set of pointers to participants who can then pick and choose where and how to contribute.
Pre-requisites + A familiarity with the Linux "desktop" + An exposure to the concept of Producing Open Source Software + Interest in the GNOME Desktop Environment
Speaker Profile Sankarshan Mukhopadhyay has been involved in Localisation, primarily bn_IN (Bengali India) through his association with the Ankur Bangla Project. He is, at the time of writing, a member of the GNOME Foundation Membership Committee and a contact for GNOME Marketing SIG in India. Additionally, as a Marketing Contact for OpenOffice.org, Sankarshan is the primary point of contact for all issues related to marketing of OpenOffice.org and sometimes even support for the same. Sankarshan is also affiliated to the Free Software Foundation and is part of the Working Group for FSF-India. This year, Sankarshan was the Google Summer of Code Mentor for the Offline Updater OPYUM through The Fedora Project.
