Event is over. See you at FOSS.IN/2007!

Shortlist 1

From FOSS.IN/2006

This is the first short list of talks (not workshops or tutorials or bofs). It is not complete, and more talks will be added over the next few days.

Note that absence from this list does not mean that your talk (or workshop or tutorial or bof) has not been approved - it simply means that some condition exists that does not yet allow us to list it publicly.

Contents

Travel Assistance

This list does not yet contain selected talks by speakers who require international travel assistance. We will be adding those as and when we are able to commit to that travel assistance, which essentially means as and when sponsors commit funds.

Quantum of sponsorship received will decide if we can provide travel assistance. If your status has changed, and you no longer need travel assistance, please drop us a note to let us know.

It is possible that some international speakers may not get selected despite the value of their talks because we cannot provide travel assistance due to funds shortage.

Workshops/Tutorials/BoFs

Workshops and tutorials are still being selected - we have very few slots available for these (4 a day, 12 total), and way too many people have submitted proposals for workshops and tutorials (some of which should really have been talks). Selection will take a few more days.

BoFs are scheduled on the fly during the event. If you have submitted a BoF, we will get in touch with you before the event, if not, you can register it at the event.

Status

You can check the status of your submission by logging into the speaker system. However, note that even if the talk is approved, it is not yet selected until we list it publicly.

Talks which do not show approved or not-approved are still under consideration, but to be fair, the chances of of their selection is slim. Do not take this personally - we only have so many talk slots, and it is not possible to accommodate everyone.

A careful reading of the Call for Participation should tell you why the talk did not get selected. In particular, non-FOSS, Computer Science style talks, introductory/elementary talks and talks by unqualified/inexperienced speakers have not been selected. But even some good talks had to be dropped because we simply don't have enough room.

Invited Talks and Keynotes

This list does not include any invited/special talks or keynotes. These will be announced later. However, speakers can check the status if their talks in the speaker system.

Team Members

This list does not contain any submissions by FOSS.IN/2006 organisation team members. These will be added only as we finalize the schedule, and if slots are available.
