FOSS.IN is one of the world's largest and most focussed FOSS events, held annually India. Over the years, it has attracted thousands of participants, and the speaker roster reads like a "Who is Who" of FOSS contributors from across the world.

Where and When

FOSS.IN/2006 will be held on November 24-26, 2006, at National Science Symposium Centre of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India.

Who should participate

If you are are someone who has the skills (coding, testing, documenting, etc.) and who has always wanted to participate in a FOSS project, or if you are an existing contributor who is looking at exchanging thoughts and experiences with your peers, then FOSS.IN is for you.

FOSS.IN/2006 will be full of technical talks, discussions, workshops and tutorials related to FOSS projects and technologies.

BoFs will allow impromptu discussions on a variety of subjects, and the Expo will expose you the latest in FOSS-related products and services.

You can expect talks to be distributed across various domains, each of these domains will have varying number of talks to suit better alignment with the direction of the event.

The event caters to a wide range of audiences but the content presented during the event will be suitable to audiences who fit into the following profiles. It should be noted that the demographics of the event have been assumed to suit the over all direction of the event itself, Hence this year events would be largely intended to bring together intermediate and advanced contributers to Free and Open source.
