MOODLE - Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment has been successfully deployed at the Govt College of Engineering, Ponda, Goa for the past four months. The deployment is the very first in Goa and is of great use to the student community and the teacher community across the state.
The talk will detail the features of the software, admin capabilities, benefits of using ICT as an aid to distance learning and student asessment and issues involved in the day to day running and maintenance of the software. |

| Profile |
Dr. George Easaw completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum in 1986. Completed PostGraduation in Industrial Engg from College of Engg, Goa in 1994. He completed Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from IIT Bombay in 2004. Since 1998 he has been working in the Gnu/Linux area and is a dedicated Gnu/Linux user from 2000 onwards.
He was instrumental in bringing Dr Richard Stallman to IIT Bombay in March of 2002 and again to the College of Engineering Goa in Nov 2002.
Co-ordinates the activities of ILUG-GEC at the College of Engineering, Goa.
He manages the only Gnu/Linux dedicated lab in the state of Goa. The other Gnu Lab is in NIO, a CSIR Lab. |
