Abstract Dotgnu's Portable.net was a project started in July of 2001, which has been quietly working away for the last 4 years to build a stable and portable platform for porting .NET applications to free operating systems with minimal changes.

The talk discusses the various features we have worked on in particular with dotgnu - Windows.Forms, I18N and Xml core libraries. The talk will slowly degenerate into a live demo of some of the featured dotgnu applications and a quick roadmap of where the entire project is headed from a community contribution perspective.

Pre-requisites Basic knowledge of computer terminology

Profile Linux user for the last 6 1/2 years. Has been the lead developer for the DotGNU project for the last 3 years. Contributor to various open source projects, depending on how boring the weekend is.

Specializes in programming languages, compiler design and virtual machines - enjoys writing clever optimisations and hacks to improve performance.
