Ruby is dynamic language, that is ideally suited to writing scripts quickly to automate repetitive, tedious tasks.
The objective of this talk is to get the audience familiar enough with ruby that they could start writing small scripts in it immediately.
While there would be a brief coverage of syntax, the focus will be on demonstrating actual usage of ruby and its supporting tools, in order to give a real feel of the language, its idioms, and the "Ruby Way" of doing things. |

Yogi is a Senior Developer with ThoughtWorks. He is a strong proponent of Agile software development processes, especially Extreme Programming and has been a TechLead/Architect on some of ThoughtWorks' largest distributed agile projects.
Recently he has fallen in love with Ruby, and is always on the lookout for opportunities to automate tasks using ruby.
Yogi is one of the founder members of the Ruby India User Group and is a committer on DamageControl, a continuous integration server in ruby (damagecontrol.codehaus.org). |
